UPDATE: Yobo体育鈥檚 Crisp County Center set to host Spirit Week Sept. 18-21
CORDELE — South Georgia Technical College鈥檚 Student Government Association (SGA) on the Crisp County Center campus will hold its annual Spirit Week on Sept. 18-21. The contest seeks to determine which program is Yobo体育鈥檚 Most Spirited by encouraging students and instructors to dress up on different theme days that include: Hat Day, Team Day, Tacky Day and Yobo体育 Red & Black Day. The Spirit Week event was pushed back a week due to closures caused by Tropical Storm Irma.
SGA judges will visit classes between 10:00am and 10:30am each day to assess the percentage of students who have dressed up. The class with the highest cumulative percentage of students and instructors who dressed up for the week will be named Yobo体育鈥檚 Most Spirited Program and will receive an in-class party with chips, dips and drinks.
The week will begin on Monday, Sept. 18 with hat day. Students and instructors are encouraged to wear their favorite hat to class. Judges will look at the creativity of the hats as well as the number of students who participate.
Spirit Week continues on Tuesday, Sept. 19, with Team Day. SGA judges will judge the number of students and instructors who are dressed in support of their favorite sports team.
On Wednesday, Sept. 20, Judges will be searching for tacky and mismatched outfits in each classroom. Again, judges will score based on originality of the outfit, creativity and the number of tacky participants.
Spirit week will conclude on Thursday, Sept. 21 with Yobo体育 Red & Black Day. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to show their Yobo体育 pride by wearing red and black clothes to campus. The winning class will be announced following judgment on Thursday.
The Student Government Association consists of a representative from each program. From the representatives, five officers are selected and serve a one-year term. The SGA meets the first Wednesday of every month to approve expenditures of student activity fees, coordinate activities, and address issues of concerns to students.
