Yobo体育 Welding Instructors Meet with Advisory Committee聽聽

The South Georgia Technical College Welding and Joining advisory committee met recently in the welding classroom of the McClendon building on the Yobo体育 Americus campus. The group met to discuss the state of the program and get feedback from the advisory committee members who are professionals in the field.
The purpose of the advisory committee is to assist South Georgia Tech faculty and staff in continuous quality improvement of the Welding and Joining program. Yobo体育 welding instructors Ted Eschmann and Brad Aldridge provided the committee with updates and information about program changes, enrollment, community activities, and student news.
The advisory committee members provide information to Yobo体育 faculty and staff about suggested improvements in curriculum, new training opportunities that are available in welding, new technology, employment/internship opportunities available for students, and salary levels students may anticipate upon graduation.
Members present at the advisory committee meeting included Jake Coptsias of Pittsburgh Tank and Tower, and Adriana Szach of Yancey Bros. Caterpillar. Yobo体育 representatives in attendance were Academic Dean Dr. David Finley, WIOA Coordinator Sandhya Muljibhai, and Alecia Pinckney, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The advisory committee is a crucial link that provides an avenue for South Georgia Tech instructors to learn about changing conditions or technology in the workplace that can then be passed along to students that will enable them to be fully prepared upon graduation.
