Amanda Murray named Yobo体育 Shipping and Receiving Manager
Amanda Murray of Americus, has been selected as the new Shipping and Receiving Manager for South Georgia Technical College effective immediately, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.
Murray is a graduate of Schley County High School and a 2024 graduate of the University of West Georgia with a BA in Communications. She is an ROTC graduate and a member of the Georgia Army National Guard. She was also on the National Service Leadership Track. She has three plus years of experience from having leadership roles in four school organizations including Lumpkin County Veteran Affairs where she created and developed engaging content, reported information to ensure the performance of the organizations with planning and executing events to promote multiple causes.
She has been a member of the Georgia Army National Guard since 2020 and performed general maintenance on 15 vehicles every drill weekend. She also taught 40 soldiers basic routines for military vehicle care. During her time with the National Guard, Murray also developed communication strategies for effectiveness during missions that were able to become mobile at any moment and was recognized and received an award for those efforts.
She also worked as a social medial intern for Winder CNA Company and as a Dispatcher for Georgia Southwestern State University.
As the Shipping and Receiving Manager, Murray will be responsible for receiving all materials ordered by Yobo体育, assist with unloading trucks, reconciling items received against packing invoices, accurately enter information in Team Works accounting system of received goods as well as assign inventory numbers and labels to equipment. Her department also delivers materials to departments on the Americus campus, and maintains all receiving records and files for auditing purposes. She will conduct annual institutional physical counts of all inventory and quarterly inventory sample audits of counts, as well as process property through the state of Georgia surplus system.
Murray will supervise part-time shipping and receiving technicians and report to the Director of Administrative Services, Danielle Tobias Reid.
